The magazine is mainly focused on the 3 different pictures of Brandon from The Killers.

This is shown by the picture intruding the text above the actually picture. This is so that the reader can physically see what is one of the main parts of the magazine. Also the magazine company NME has also made the title larger and a rhetorical question to intrigue the reader to read on and buy the magazine as a result. To add to this they have a brief quote on what the artist has said to persuade the reader more.

The editor has created a ripped effect between the 3 pictures to show the fact that the artist is in a current "crisis" to give the effect that he is broken and its going to take a while for him to be fixed. This is another way in which to split up the pictures than just putting a simple border around them. 

The NME title looks like its been indented as the white border around it gives this effect that it stands out to show that it is better than the magazines it is surrounded by in the shop. in addition to this magazine uses yellow writing on a black background to make it stick out and advertise what is inside that current issue to create a way in which to advertise what is inside the magazine in the current issue.
